October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October has always been one of my favorite months. The weather is getting a little cooler. It is my birthday month; No, I do not celebrate for the entire month. Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays. The fishing starts to change as the water cools down and both college and professional football take over the weekends. There are just so many great things about October. 

This year my focus in October is Breast Cancer Awareness.  This cause has always been close to my heart with my mother being a Breast Cancer survivor, but this year, it has a new purpose.  As a recent survivor, wearing pink in October has become so much more. You may have noticed that The Lofty Seahorse has a collection dedicated to Cancer Awareness. We specialize in Breast Cancer tumblers, breast cancer hats, breast cancer survivor ornaments and much more. Through our products, we want to empower others to fight cancer and give back to our community.

I started this collection after getting my diagnosis in March 2024.  I was scared, angry, and determined not to let Breast Cancer redefine my life.  My first tumbler was personal. I made it for myself and I carried it everywhere, to every appointment.  It was a small sign of the power I was determined to keep.  It was like my super hero cape.  This special Breast Cancer laser engraved tumbler has a few choice words for cancer that would make some people clutch their pearls, but it was my fight song.  I want our Breast Cancer Collection to give others this power over their cancer.

One in every eight woman will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Early diagnosis is pivotal to cancer survivorship. Yearly mammograms are so important to catching cancer early and increasing survival rates. Yet, so many woman can't afford to get screened or to get treatment. The Lofty Seahorse wants to help change that.  Through a few local foundations, we will donate a portion of our sales to help other women get the screenings and care they need.
